RiRi Hearts MAC Fall: Her Cocoa Quad Pictures and Review

Did you get swept up in he RiRi craze last week. Are you still alive if you did? I had a relatively peaceful experience in collecting my goodies! I arrived at Selfridges Birmingham at 10:15, fifteen minutes after they had opened, expecting long @$$ queues. There were only two people in front of me! A MAC SA asked what I'd like while I was still queuing, and I was paid up and gone within ten minutes. Smooth.

I then visited the MAC store in the city centre. Again, not many people around, although they had already sold out of Talk That Talk lipliner and Diamonds Cream Colour Blush. This was about 10:30 am. However, I managed to get my backup Talk That Talk lipstick, and I was tempted by the SA into buying Her Cocoa eyeshadow quad.

More pictures after the jump!

MAC Pink Pepper and Summer Honey Pressed Pigments

Hey guys!

After a long hiatus, I'm finally back to my beauty writing and it feels great to be able to do it again! I've recently swapped job roles within the pub that I work, which means I can now wear make and nail polish again. Happy days!

Today I'm showing you all a look I created with MAC's 2013 pressed pigments collection. Some of this collection was limited edition, however a handful were added to the existing range that was introduced in the summer of last year. I have used Pink Pepper and Summer Honey in my look today, which are both LE shades, however at the time of me writing this, both of these shades were available on Selfridges' website. So run, don't walk, and order these if you like them!!

Pink Pepper

Summer Honey

These two shades make such a pretty combination together! I used an Estee Lauder eyeshadow pencil as an adhesive base so that the pigments had something to adhere to. I then used Pink Pepper all over the lid, and blended any harsh lines out with Summer Honey. I then used a Stila waterproof liquid liner to line underneath my eyes and create a flick. On my inner rim is Illamasqua colouring pencil in Elate. The lashes are Make Up Academy Flair lash.

Have you tried any of the MAC Pressed Pigments yet? Please feel free to share any tips or looks in the comments below!

Maybelline Master Drama Chromatics Kohl Pencils

Hey guys, ready for some color?

Maybelline are seriously starting to make y wallet hurt this year! In recent times they've releases Color Tattoos, Vivid Sensational lipsticks, Baby Lips (FINALLY in the UK, YASS!), and Color Tattoo Pigments (not in the UK yet, boo.) However, these four pencils have not gathered as much interest and hype as these other products, and I'm here to change that, 'cos these pencils have jazzed up my makeup kit!

L-R clockwise: Purple Light, Magic Magenta, Vibrant Gold, Turquoise Vibe

These pencils are super creamy and insanely pigmented! The gold is the sheerest of the four, but all the other three are pretty much opaque in one sweep across my lids. With the look I created, I did build them up slightly, but if I was just wearing these as a simple line, one sweep would do!

I think these jewel colored eyeliners are perfect for creating sumptuous looks! Perfect for Fall, in my humble opinion. And for £4.49, these are a great, affordable way to update your makeup bag for the coming months. These pencils are available in both Boots and Superdrug. It doesn't say whether they are limited edition- if they are, I'm grabbing back ups!

Happy Weekend everyone!

New York Color (NYC) HD Color Eyeshadow Quad

Hey guys!

My budget beauty quest continues, and today I have a review of NYC's HD Color Eyeshadow Quad in NY Tribute. I picked this palette because I thought the pinks and purples would suit my green eyes.

Beautiful colors, non? Look at the shimmer in the light purple!

Some application tips, which I roughly followed.

Here's the look I created:-

When I first opened this palette and swiped the shadows with my fingers, I was impressed. they seemed nicely and soft, and full of pigment. However, this soft texture was the product's downfall, as the shadows literally crumbled upon application. Fallout, was unfortunately, a huge problem with these.

In addition to this, as you can see in the photos, the pigment turned out to be not so great on these. I found myself having to use a lot f the darkest purple color to even make it look like I had some eyeshadow on! The best shadow was probably the highlighter shade, as it looked sheer, and not at all chalky.

So overall ,this product wasn't the greatest. In truth, the application was a nightmare. It took me a long time to build up these shadows due to the fallout and lack of pigment. It's such a shame, because if the shadows were pigmented, then the collection of colors would have been really nice. Boo.

The HD Color Eyeshadow quad is £2.99, and is available from Superdrug.
