RiRi Hearts MAC Holiday: Bad Girl RiRi and Pleasurebomb lipsticks

This week has seen the release of the third and final RiRi Hearts MAC collection, on both sides of the Atlantic. If, like me, (and a about a million other MAC addicts) you've probably experienced a hella struggle to get the items from this Holiday launch! Like, a mountain of struggle. I think the words 'unicorn riding a rainbow' come to my mind, after the amount of sheer site-stalking, waiting in a virtual 'waiting-room' and queuing up in busy department stores I've done in the past seven days! Ah, but it was all worth it...

'My Precioussssss!'

The RiRi Hearts MAC Holiday collection comprises of twelve items, including a brush, makeup bag, and a nail polish to match the staple lipstick from all three collections, RiRi Woo. I'm not gonna show you RiRi Woo again in this post, you can read my review on it here. I am however, going to show you the two new lipsticks in this Holiday collection: Bad Girl RiRi and Pleasurebomb.

Bad Girl RiRi

Pleasurebomb

How gorgeous is the white and rose gold combo packaging? I love it! I even prefer it to the Fall packaging, which was all rose gold. Bad Girl RiRi is a rose toned nude with a matte finish. Pleasurebomb is a vibrant fuchsia with a matte finish. Both these lipsticks had a flawless application that was smooth and fully opaque in two swipes. They wore on me like regular MAC matte lipsticks; up to four hours, with fading after the third. It is noteworthy that Pleasurebomb left a slight stain on my lips up until I washed my face.

Pleasurebomb

I really like Pleasurebomb, but I have a feeling that I could probably find an inexpensive dupe for it either on the highstreet here, or in an American drugstore. Bad Girl RiRi on the other hand is unique, especially to my lipstick collection. I very much doubt that I'd find a pink nude that suits me as much as BGRR! I'm glad I managed to score myself a backup. I pretty much refreshed the Nordstrom about 100 times in one night just to get my hands on it, but it was so worth it. Look, over there! Is that a unicorn riding a rainbow? Haha.

Have you battled online or instore to bag yourself some RiRi Hearts MAC Holiday goodies? What did you pick up? Is there anything you wanted, but couldn't get your hands on it?

RiRi Hearts MAC Fall: Nude Lipstick

Hey guys! I'm gonna go right ahead and show y'all the third out of four lipsticks that Rihanna created for MAC this Fall. I have today Nude, a mid-tone brown nude with a matte finish. After road testing RiRi Woo yesterday which is a Retro Matte, this normal matte formula felt like a walk in the park to work with!!

Nude

I've gotta admit, when I first tried Nude I looked like I had poop lips. Yep, poop lips. However, when I had my full makeup on, with fairly dark eye makeup, it made Nude look pretty good! It just needed something to counterbalance itself, as it is quite deep on my skintone. Here is the look I created with it, and I think it's quite vampy on me!

I was going to show you Talk That Talk next, but my lips felt like they needed a rest from all the Retro Matte business!! I also have the complete MAC Retro Matte lipstick collection to show you soon, eek! I shall be begging for a gloss to review after all them!!

New York Color (NYC) Expert Last Nail Polish

Woo woo! The budget beauty quest rolls on...

Today I have NYC's Expert Last Nail Polish to show you. After really enjoying wearing NYC's Rock Muse Smoky top coat, I was expecting good things from NYC's more expensive polish line. When I say expensive, I mean it's still only £2.49. Their Quick Dry color range is even cheaper at £1.79 a bottle, but more on that to come!

When browsing the Expert Last polishes in Superdrug, I really wanted the glitter top coat, named Gramercy Glitz. I then picked a soft nude pink polish which I could layer the top coat on to. Here's my combination:-

Base color: Oh SoHo Sweet
Glitter top coat: Gramercy Glitz

I never usually go for nudes, much less sheer nudes! That said, I love how squishy Oh SoHo Sweet looks on the nail. Here you see three coats, and there is still some VNL (visible nail line!) I could have applied a fourth layer, but I really don't mind seeing a little bit of nail line, and I didn't want to make the polish look thick/clumpy.

Gramercy Glitz is a fine multi colored glitter suspended in a transparent pink base. I loved how it looked delicate both in the bottle and on the nail, kinda like angel wings. I want to experiment further with Gramercy Glitz and maybe sandwich it with a chunkier glitter in a jelly sandwich mani. Oh yeah!

The formula on both of these was good. Considering how sheer Oh SoHo Sweet is, application was good. I didn't find it to streak, nor did it bald in places, which I sometimes find in sheer polishes. The polishes were also quick to dry which is always a bonus.

You know what? I may just be a nude convert. I had hella lots of compliments at work when wearing this mani today! I will also be checking out the other colors in NYC's Expert Last range. If I remember correctly, I'm sure I saw a pistachio green...
